It's Friday already! Holiday weeks are the best.
To start the new year off right, yesterday we got a bunch of snow! I took my lunch to wander around campus and snap a few pictures.
These were taken with my nice camera, a Canon Rebel xT. It was my high school graduation present back in 2006, and it's still going strong :)
I even spent a little time editing these in Picasa (upping the brightness, contrast, saturation, and warmth, where I felt like it made the pictures pop more).
IU's campus is beautiful all the time anyway, but in the snow it is just gorgeous.
I think the picture directly below is my favorite of this set.
Our new year celebration was fantastic. Several friends came to our house - most from out of town - and we had a great time playing party games, eating, and counting down with the ball drop. A couple of good friends stayed overnight and we wound up staying up till almost 3am with them, which was awesome. I made strawberry-banana crepes in the morning for breakfast before one had to leave, which is what Eric and I have for breakfast on weekends every other week or so (I also set out Nutella, strawberry jam, chocolate sauce, and whipped cream...no better way to start the year ;) ha!). Then we went to a playground near us and enjoyed how lovely it was. Good thing, too, because next week we have a day where the high is going to be -8. I can't remember the last time it was that cold here!
How was your New Year's? Do you have a lot of snow? We are supposed to get slammed on Sunday - I have heard reports for anywhere from 4 to 12 inches!
