Michigan Trip Recap

Last week was the conclusion of the write-up of our Michigan trip. A two week trip turned into two months of posts! We had a great time and got to do and see a lot. I thought it would be fun to take a look back on some of my favorite things from the trip. You can also see all the posts on the Adventures page. Our route took us from Indiana to Michigan to Wisconsin to Illinois and back to Indiana.

Favorite Beach
I probably would say the Holland Sand Dunes were my favorite beach. It was awesome to finally see something Eric talks about regularly, and we were able to spend time with Tim and Elvis there as well.

Favorite Lighthouse
I will say the Christmas Light, just because it's nowhere near the water and they put Christmas lights on it during Christmas time. None of the lighthouses really struck me on this trip; they were mostly all nice. We did have a great view from the top of Little Sable Point.

Favorite Place We Ate
The Safe House, hands down. That was one of the most fun dining experiences I've ever had.

Favorite Outdoorsy Thing
This is really hard. Pretty much everything we did was outdoorsy. I would say everything unless I had to pick, in which case it's a tie between exploring Mackinac Island and Kitch-iti-kipi. But I also enjoyed the entirety of Pictured Rocks, Sleeping Bear Dunes, and Sugarloaf Mountain.

Favorite Town
We had fun experiences in lots of towns (like our adventure to get a hotel room in Traverse City), but even though we didn't get to spend a ton of time in it, I probably liked Holland the best. We had the best weather there, and got to do and see a lot. Otherwise, I really enjoyed spending time in South Bend to see Courtney and Alana and Marquette to see Ali :)

And here's a general map of the main places we visited on our trip (this doesn't include the small towns we stopped in to see lighthouses or the stops we made in Pictured Rocks):
