Goals Recap - Week 27

Happy 4th of July!! I hope you have a great long weekend. The weather is supposed to be amazing and I can't wait to spend time with our families in town visiting us. Hooray holidays!

Since we are at the halfway point of the year, I thought it'd be a good idea to look back on the goals I set for myself and for this blog back at the very end of 2013. I have accomplished some things but not others, but luckily I still have half a year to get myself back in order.

I wanted 2014 to be the Year of Opportunities. And boy, has it ever, and it's only halfway over. Not only did we get engaged (the opportunity to spend the rest of my life with Eric is pretty awesome), I also have a new career path starting up next month (more on that later on in the month). This little blog is getting some notice, too, which can only lead to more opportunities down the line.

My big goals for myself were health, education, and business. I wanted to cut down my sugar intake and get back into shape. I am not doing nearly as well with this as I had hoped. Actually, I have gained several pounds while at my current job (sitting kills) even though in my head I want to be active every day. I do get out for walks almost every day at lunch. I really need to figure out how to make exercise a priority, especially with a wedding coming up (I want to look amazing!). For education, I have learned a lot at my job but I have not done any Photoshop tutorials yet. For business, I still have lots of ideas but nothing is off the ground. It looks like I have lots of improvement still to make this year!

The big goals for the blog were to have a regular posting schedule, a new design, and to get opportunities through the blog. Well, I am very happy to say I have a regular posting schedule! I think I do well at getting new content up each week, and there's a good variety of our travels, stuff to do around Bloomington, and my other interests represented. For design, I did buy a domain name, but I haven't redesigned anything yet. As far as opportunities go, I was able to write a guest article for Redleg Nation because of this blog, so that's pretty awesome! And I've made 26 cents. I still have a long way to go, though. It definitely takes time.

How are you doing with your New Year's resolutions? Do you reevaluate your goals as you move through the year?
