The other hike we did in Rocky Mountain National Park was the Sprague Lake Nature Trail. This is more of a nice walk than hike :) The trailhead is on the same road you would take to get to Bear Lake and has a large parking lot and restrooms.
It was really beautiful!
The white you see in the distance on the mountain is actually Tyndall Glacier. One of the main reasons I wanted to come down this way (to Bear Lake initially) was to see this glacier so that I'd be able to see at least one glacier in my life (even if it's from far away). They say it looks like it's retreating, so better get to the park sooner rather than later to see it.
As we were walking around the lake, it started drizzling. Then the sun came out and we had a beautiful rainbow. It was a nice sign to start our trip!
If you are in this area anyway, it is worth a short stop at Sprague Lake to see the beautiful lake with the mountains in the background (that combination of nature is one of my favorites).
