DC: Nationals Park, Cincinnati Reds at Washington Nationals, April 26-28

Last weekend we spent several hours at Nationals Ballpark.

I've mentioned before my love for baseball, particularly for the Cincinnati Reds, and there was no way we were going to miss when the Reds came to town. They actually played April 25-28, but I had my last class of the semester on the 25th so we couldn't go. We have been to many games at Nats Park (to watch the Reds), and it's a very nice ballpark. It's fairly new, right on the metro, has parking if you're willing to walk, and the food is decent although overpriced. One new thing they are doing is incorporating signature food from other ballparks, so we actually got to eat some "Cincinnati Chili" on Saturday for lunch. Not quite Skyline (which we didn't get at Goodyear), but pretty good.

Just like last year, the Reds lost the first three games of the series and won the last chance game. The games were still pretty fun, and Eric actually wound up getting a Devin Mesoraco home run ball hit into the stands during batting practice on Friday night.

We saw this very confused Nationals fan holding up a sign rooting for the Reds' new center field, Shin-Soo Choo.

The Nationals' claim to fame is having a President's race in the middle of the 4th inning. Abe, George, Bill, Tom, and Teddy race around the track. Last year the big news was that Teddy finally one (he had never one a race before). This year the big news was adding Taft to the roster.

Aroldis Chapman, the Cuban Missile, pitching for the Reds.

And hitting 100 miles per hour. Glad he's on our team.
