The 4th Street Festival of the Arts is the biggest arts fair in Bloomington. Hundreds of vendors from all over the country head here on Labor Day weekend to show off their arts.
Hundreds of people turn out to look at them! I thought maybe the incessant rain would keep people away, but nope, it was just as crowded as during last year's 99 degree temperatures. Bloomington just really appreciates its art.
There were "no photography" signs posted all over the booths, so this was as best as I could do. You will just have to check it out for yourself. The festival is free to get in -- it just takes up a huge chunk of 4th Street (and some streets branching off), so beware of changing traffic patterns and little parking.
I didn't buy anything, but if I had a few grand to burn on art, I would have come away with some beautiful extra-large paintings and some equally beautiful handmade wooden furniture. And a pottery fountain to put in the garden.
