Cincinnati, OH: Triceracopter at University of Cincinnati's Langsam Library

Here's something to brighten your day - there is a triceratops-helicopter art display in the Langsam Library at the University of Cincinnati.

Created by artist and UC Emeritus Professor Patricia A. Renick, it's just hanging out in the back left of the main floor of the library with its counterpart self-portrait sculpture. There are lots of students just off screen to the right working (or pretending to) who may look at you curiously as you take several dozen photos of a giant triceracopter.

These photos are all of the artist working on the sculpture. Pretty cool. You can also watch how the sculpture was moved into the library in this video. There are some more photos of the artist working here.

Although there are plenty of signs that claim there's a webcam so we can watch others' reactions to seeing the giant triceracopter in the library, I can't find any mention of the webcam online. The link the QR code goes to (libraries.uc.edu/triceracopter) is broken. Guess you'll just have to check it out for yourself! It really is a neat idea and piece to have in a library.

The library is on the main campus of the University of Cincinnati and there is no admission fee. There is paid parking in the garage next door, but I would probably recommend street parking somewhere nearby and walking because it will be cheaper and less crazy with all the construction going on around campus.
