State Capitols

Eric and I have somewhat unintentionally started a quest to visit all of the state capitol buildings in the United States. (As a kid, I had a bucket list item to visit all the state capitals, and it seems we are well on our way.) It's been a fun adventure; they are all different and the tour guides are usually really into telling us about the history of the state, the building(s), and the politics. Clink the links below to see write ups of our tours (some with guides, some self-guided).

Total State Capitols toured: 21/50

Alabama - Montgomery (December 17, 2019)
California - Sacramento (May 31, 2017)
Colorado - Denver (July 16, 2019)
Connecticut - Hartford (October 2016)
Florida - Tallahassee (December 18, 2019)
Indiana - Indianapolis (June 17, 2019)
Iowa - Des Moines (August 2, 2017)
Kentucky - Frankfort (December 27, 2017)
Louisiana - Baton Rouge (December 15, 2019)
Michigan - Lansing (August 2018)
Mississippi - Jackson (December 16, 2019)
Nebraska - Lincoln (August 2, 2017)
Nevada - Carson City (May 23, 2017)

North Carolina - Raleigh (June 21, 2017)
North Dakota - Bismarck (July 2015)
Ohio - Columbus (January 2018)
Oklahoma - Oklahoma City (July 10, 2017)
South Carolina - Columbia (December 23, 2019)
Vermont - Montpelier (October 2016)

And of course, we've been to the capital of all the states, the US Capitol building in Washington, DC. We've also been inside the White House.

We've been to the following capital cities but haven't yet been inside the capitol building:

Arizona - Phoenix (for a conference in 2013 and in Nov 2018)
Georgia - Atlanta (for the Final Four)
Maryland - Annapolis (have been on the grounds, but not inside)
Massachusetts - Boston (visited a museum en route to visit a friend)
Minnesota - St Paul (well, the Minneapolis side, for a baseball game)
Montana - Helena (drove through en route to Glacier National Park)
Pennsylvania - Harrisburg (I've been on the grounds since my grandparents used to live here)
Rhode Island - I've been to Providence, RI, but Eric hasn't yet.
South Dakota - Pierre (drove through)
Tennessee - Nashville (conference and visiting friends)
Virginia - Richmond (drove through)
West Virginia - Charleston (drove through, had lunch)
